Thru my eyes
Home Up

This is how the world looks to me.  What I've done here is taken some photos and adjusted them to show you how I see things.  This page will take a little time to load if you are on a slow connection, but the larger size graphic files were necessary to deal with the detail I'm trying to show you.  This isn't a perfect representation, but it will do for what we are trying to do here.

The first photo is how things look through my left eye (the only one presently affected).  As you can see, the picture is blurred.  This is caused by the atrophy (and probable loss) of function in retinal cells in my target vision area.  I can still see faces and recognize people at near and medium distance.  In many ways, it is like being near sighted and running around with no glasses on.  Note the pattern on my shirt (that's me standing with my sister Glynn there) and the amount of detail you can see.  Then scroll on down the page for another shot that shows the vision through the right eye and note the difference.

Below is the shot that shows the same image the way it looks through my right eye.   Compare the patern on the shirt, and the detail you can see in the leaves on the plants in the background.  Also, you can read the initial (the letter "M") in my belt buckle.
